The Master of Public Health (MPH) trains Public Health specialists who can provide leadership in addressing national and regional health care challenges from the integrated community, clinical, preventive and health promotion health perspective. MPH is a competency-based training programme that uses high quality and sustainable training strategies meant to produce public health leaders and workers who are able to address public health challenges at the national, programme, district and community levels in Uganda and beyond.
The program focuses on training health cadres with the following competences;
• Knowledge and its application in epidemiology, biostatics, research methods, population health and health systems
• Critical inquiry and scientific methodology to address public health challenges
• Development of interpersonal and communication Skills
• Leadership and management skills
• Public Health innovation
• Advocacy and development of health policies
• Poverty eradication, health promotion and development.
