Fisheries and Water Resource Management: An Overview
This program is premised on the role of the faculty in fostering sustainable development through the sustainable use of natural resources and the environment. It builds on the experiences of implementing the existing undergraduate program wherein the basics of natural resources economics are extensively explored. The uniqueness of the program consolidates the position of Busitema University and the Faculty of Natural Resources and Environment as a niche in fishery and water resource management. The program building capacity in the sub discipline of Fisheries and water resources management in light of the inadequate capacity to support the fisheries sub sector. Entry Requirements

UACE & UCE:
  • UACE in two of the subjects: Economics, Biology, Mathematics, Agriculture, Chemistry, Physics and Geography. UCE with at least six credits of which two credits must be in English and Mathematics.
Diploma entry requirements:
  • Candidates must have passed Mathematics and English with at least a credit in the Uganda Certificate of Education or its equivalent and obtained a diploma (at credit/distinction level) in the relevant natural or physical sciences from a recognized institution.
Mature Age requirement:
  • Candidates seeking admission through this scheme must be at least 25 years old and must apply to sit for the mature age examination.
