An Undergraduate Library Subject Guide providing suggested resources and other information for beginning research on the topic Diploma in Crop Production and Management.

An Overview
This revised Diploma in Crop production and management program at Busitema University is now a more practical oriented one that trains students in the field of crop production and management. The program produces graduates with basic scientific knowledge and practical skills in crop production, soil science, agricultural mechanization, agricultural extension, agricultural marketing, farm management and agricultural economics among others. It is designed to contribute to the national objectives of increasing household incomes, employment creation and food security among others. The program has a key course of farm practices and special projects that is designed to provide daily hands-on practical experience to students in the farm and an outreach course in which students in their last academic year interact with farming communities to disseminate key modern skills and technologies to farmers. Given that majority of our farmers practice mixed farming, a course on livestock production is also among the courses to provide the student with key knowledge and skills to practice mixed and organic farming.
